Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Course was originally founded as a 9 hole course in 1888 and in Scottish links golf terms was only converted to an 18 hole layout recently in 1996. The above development of the course ensures a round of two contrasting but equally enjoyable halves. This beautiful course is positioned on the Ythan Estuary and overlooks the nearby Sands of Forvie National Nature Reserve and North Sea.

The front nine of the championship golf course at Newburgh on Ythan is the newer of the two, with exposure to the adjacent river Ythan and tricky greens it certainly demands accurate golf. The more traditional back nine is links golf at its best and challenges golfers with large undulating greens and fairways bordered by gorse. Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Course also features a magnificent clubhouse which has superb views across the golf course and local area. This friendly and traditional golf club should definitely be considered when looking at customizing a golf vacation to Scotland.
