  • 18 holes, par 72, 6,526 Yards. Heathland.

The superb heathland layout at Whitekirk was opened in 1995 but has the feel of a much more mature golf course. The course was designed by the well-respected Cameron Sinclair, who has made alterations to such courses as the Jubilee Course at St Andrews, Royal Liverpool and Royal Birkdale to name a few. Whitekirk Golf Course offers a variety of superb views across many famous landmarks of East Lothian, including the magnificent Tantallon Castle.

With a number of water hazards, elevation changes and tight fairways the course at Whitekirk is a tough challenge. The 11th hole at Whitekirk Golf Course is a memorable but perilous one and requires a well guided tee shot to avoid the hefty water hazard to the right of the fairway and a long approach shot to a well-guarded green. Whitekirk Golf Course certainly isn’t as renowned as the majority of the courses in the area but is worth a visit whilst on a golf vacation to Scotland.
