  • 18 holes, par 71, 6927 yards. Parkland.

Proud host of the Irish Open in 2001, 2002 and 2014, the Deerpark Course is located in the south of Ireland within the Fota Island Resort. Although the course was not officially founded until 1993, early records suggest that golf was first played there in 1886. Deerpark was originally designed by Peter McEvoy and Ryder Cup star Christy O’Connor, until it was improved in 1998 to meet European Tour standards.

When you initially step out onto Fota Island’s famous Deerpark Course, its wide fairways and light rough will be joy to your eyes, but do not let this fool you. This course is long, with a fair few bunkers, multi-tiered greens, and an abundance of water hazards spread out all over the course to always keep the golfer guessing. We highly recommend this course and Fota Island as a top class resort – certainly one to consider for you Irish golf vacation.
