  • 18 holes, par 72, 7072 yards. Parkland.

Situated in 260 acres of rolling parkland, Westport Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole golf course set in County Mayo. Although the club was founded in 1908, the official course wasn’t built were it stands today until 1927 as a 9-hole course. In 1971, the renowned course architect Fred Hawtree was hired to design a championship golf course which didn’t open until 1975. Since then the course has received critical acclaim and the national recognition it deserves.

Measuring in at over 7000 yards, Westport is a demanding layout that will test the longer hitters off the tee. As both 9-holes were built at different times they both offer unique challenges. The front 9 is relatively straightforward, but very long, and the closing back 9 calls for a bit more character and course management. Regardless of each holes difficulty, Westport Golf Course is an excellent track that is always kept in pristine condition. We highly recommend this as one of your vacation courses – you will not be disappointed!
